Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Senior Accountant to join our company and finance team at our corporate headquarters in Houston, Texas.
The Senior Accountant will report directly to the company Controller.
Responsibilities:
– Assist in the month-end closing and reporting process; Review and perform monthly general ledger reconciliations.
– Prepare monthly financial statements and related analysis reports, including gross margin analysis reports along with monthly operational reports. Prepare explanations and analysis of significant or unusual variances in actual results from budget, forecasts and prior periods. Serve as liason to external auditors.
– Providing schedules and supporting documentation to the external auditors as needed.
– Assisting with preparing the financial and other sections of the filings with the SEC, including Forms 10-K and 10-Q as well as other SEC filings.
– Maintaining compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and documenting changes as they occur. Ensure the highest level of financial & accounting internal controls and reporting in accordance with established policies and procedures, by continuous monitoring.
– Providing leadership toward additional value-added activities and supporting operational and departmental excellence, while fostering teamwork between all functions. Maintain honest and ethical conduct.
– Participate in special projects as requested by management.
Requirements:
Strong computer and system skills, proficient in Excel.
Sound analytical thinking and decision-making.
Good interpersonal skills team-player; relates well with peers and supervisor, works well with other functional groups.

The position requires a CPA or actively pursuing CPA license, current or prior public accounting experience, 2+ years financial reporting experience and strong MS Excel and Access skills.
Successful candidates for the Senior Accountant position will possess more than 2 years of public accounting or more than a year of SEC Reporting and 3 years total accounting experience.
An accounting degree, strong communications skills, and a through understand of GAAP and FASB pronouncements is also required.
Preference will be given to those candidates who have Big 4 experience or MAS500 software experience.
